The Cozy Corner of Patriarchy uses softness as a trapdoor. Drawing from feminist theory, lived experience, and a collection of women’s stories, the installation blends denim, domestic textiles, and humor to expose the contradictions of a culture that claims to care for women while simultaneously policing, consuming, and diminishing them. A soundscape of women’s voices recounting their experiences anchors the environment in collective truth. By pairing comfort with critique, the installation reveals how patriarchy disguises itself as protection and invites viewers to confront the systems woven into everyday life.
